CREATING A MOVING SECTOR (VEHICLE)

NOTE: Please refer to the vehicle.map in mapedit 2D
mode in conjunction with this tutorial.

1. In 2D mode, create a red-line sector for a vehicle platform
and in 3D mode, raise it to the desired height.

2. In 2D mode, hold the left <Alt> key and press the <F5> key to
select  a sector "Type" of " 616 : Slide " in the Trigger/Channel dialog
menu. Set up your data menu according to the following:

Type  616: Slide
RX ID: 115 (or a number specific to the vehicle over 100)
State: 1 : ON

OFF->ON
busyTime = 255

ON->OFF
busyTime= 255
wave: 2 Slow

FX..
x drag

4. Press the left <Enter> return key, and a blue arrow is created.
Place the arrowhead on your vehicle platform and stretch the tail
where you'd like your vehicle to stop. If you add indentations to your
vehicle (like an area to stand in, or a seat), you'll have to place your
arrow for each one of those areas as well, making sure that all the arrows
are the same length. In other words, if your seat is three squares back from
the front of your vehicle, the the tail of that arrow must be three squares
back as well (in order to keep your motion of both sectors aligned and
smooth). A good example of this is the boat in E2M2 at the beginning
of that level (which has four sectors and arrows to align).

5. To add sound effects, put the SOUND SFX SPRITE # 2520 in the
door sector and set your sprite dialog ( hold left <Ctrl> and press <F6>)
to the following:

data1: 112
data2: 153
data3: 112
data4: 153

7. Save your work, and exit. You have created a moving vehicle
