Story

Nearly two months have passed since the death of Garibaldi and the dissolution
of his curse. And Logan forever earned his place in the history of the world
of Iconoclast. Though the attacks on Earth have been halted, its population
are unaware of Logan's heroics and deeds.

But even though Garibaldi is dead, his legacy lives on. The army he raised,
the Scourge, now stranded within the world of Iconoclast launch a campaign of
war, determined to carry on the work of their founder and benefactor, reclaim what was taken from them, and ultimately exact vegeance against Logan, whom they now bitterly consider a traitor who sullied their pride of being the most powerful army in history.

With the armies of the land powerless to stop this new threat, the people,
having barely been able to enjoy their freedom from Garibaldi's curse, know
that only one man can save them all. Thus, the wizard Murlock summons Logan
to return to their world.

Though the Great War that has ravaged Europe for the past four years has just
ended, for Logan, the war with his internal demons and guilt at the failure
to save his true love rages on. When he receives word from Murlock of the
attacks on all of Iconoclast, he answers the call to once more be the hero
humanity needs.

His crusade in the name of Katrina is not yet complete. He still has
unfinished business to attend to. The battle against Garibaldi may be over,
but the war with the Scourge has only truly just begun! A war that he must
fight in order to truly find peace.

There can be no peace so long as those who make war march. If all humanity
wants peace, then they must be prepared for the fight of their lives!

Playing Legends of Iconoclast: Unfinished Business

Unzip(keep your pants on!)the file Ufb.zip into your blood directory. You must
have installed the full version of Blood and the Plasma Pak in order to play.
Then type "ufb" to play. Or if you prefer to play without the cd music playing,
type "ufbnocd".

Once the new music tracks and sounds are loaded into your sounds.rff file, the
game will start.

(Note: Use only the Quit option from the menu to exit the game. Do not exit
your Dos program otherwise the backups will not be restored!)

Select "New Game" and press enter. Select one of the chapters. It's best to
start with Episode 1. Then play the episodes in order to get the game story.
During gameplay, at the end of certain levels, you will get a message telling
you when to read a text file to follow the game's story.

Next, you need to select a difficulty. Difficulty determines how much damage
your enemies deal to you and how much they can suffer before dying themselves.
Difficulty also determines how many enemies you will encounter and how many
items you can find. On higher difficulty levels, some items will be missing or
replaced with others. Locations of many keys are changed, solutions to certain
puzzles, and some enemies will be replaced with tougher opponents. Altogether,
all this makes the game highly replayable.

Still Kicking-Recommeded for beginning players, little kids, and little old
ladies. But then again, this isn't a game for kids.

Pink On The Inside-This is a little harder than Still Kicking and is a good
starting point for inexperienced players. If you keep getting beaten to a
bloody pulp, you might want to join your grandma on Still Kicking.

Lightly Broiled-The default difficult. Good starting point for most players.
Enemies are not too easy and not too difficult either.

Well Done-Enemies are tougher than normal strength and provide a much greater
challenge. Good for experienced players who aren't yet ready for the greater
challenge.

Extra Crispy-The ultimate challenge. The weak shall perish, the strong shall triumph! Recommended only for elite players. Anyone else won't last long!

Weapons

The Scourge have hidden their secret stocks of weapons throughout the realm.
Some are in secret areas, others are in the open.

You must use every weapon at your disposal...for your enemies disposal that
is! You'll find these weapons along the way:

Pitchfork-The last resort, a melee only weapon, which unfortunately gives you
a disadvantage in battle. You will always have this weapon in your possession,
but you'll need more powerful weapons to be victorious against opponents who
attack from range.

Flare Pistol-Good for signalling a plane when you're in danger. Also good
for lighting up your enemies like a freaky Christmas tree!

Sawed Off Shotgun-More effective at close range due to the broadening spread
pattern at long range. The more pellets that connect with your targer, the
more damage you deal.

Thompson Machine Gun-While the bullets deal less damage than most other guns,
the rapid rate of fire more than makes up for it.

Napalm Launcher-This is the equivalent of a rocket launcher in most other
first person shooters. It launches a flaming ball of napalm. If the explosion
doesn't kill him, the burning will. Even if it doesn't, it will leave severe
burns. Don't get too close to the explosion or you'll regret it! (If you
survive that is!)

TNT Bundle-The basic explosive comes with a fuse that you light. Better throw
it quickly before it goes off in your hand. You may not have one afterwards!

Proximity Mine-This explosive works in a different manner. Rather than a fuse,
it comes with a motion detector. Perfect for setting traps against pursuing
enemies. They'll never know what hit them. But be careful or you may fall prey
to your own trap as they cannot determine friend from foe.

Remote Mine-Similar to Proximity Mines, but you can detonate them whenever you
need or want to. You can drop multiple mines without detonating them. The more
you drop, the bigger the explosion. Be careful not to stand too close to that
blast radius!

Aerosel Can-If you smoke(and with this weapon, who wouldn't?), use your
cigarette lighter with a hairspray bottle, you've got a flamethrower. (Kids,
don't try this at home!) Or you can light it and toss it as a molotov
cocktail. The explosion will fry whoever is stupid enough to stand too close.
(you included)

Tesla Cannon-When you powerup this weapon to the max, your enemies will be in
for a shocking experience. (pardon the pun) Who needs the electric chair to
provide shock therapy when you've got this weapon?

Life Leech-This staff is powered by the life essence of your enemies, the
souls of the dead, and even your own health should the need come.

Voodoo Doll-With each stab of this magical weapon, mystical forces will
inflict pain and suffering on the closest enemy. Since these forces are
invisible, your enemies will never know what hit them.

===============================================================================

Items

You'll find these items along the way. They will greatly aid your quest. Some
are added to your inventory, others will be activated once you pick them up.

Life Point Items
These restore lost hit points. Without them, you'll find yourself in a pool of
your own blood.

Doctor's Bag-The medical supplies contained within can restore lost hit
points. Carried anywhere until used up.

Life Essence-This artifact contains a portion of the life essence of your
fallen foes. Pick it up to replenish your own by 20 points. It will not take
your health over 100.

Medicine Pouch-Powdered herbs are stored within here. They restore 50 hit
points but will not take you past 100.

Life Seed-Gives you 100 hit points. Useful for completely restoring lost life
points and beyond, up to 200. Quite rare.

Defense Items
These items are useful for increasing your defense power. Their effects are
limited and they are activated immediately once picked up. They last as long
as they can absorb damage. Keep an eye out for replacements when they get low.

Basic Armor-Gives you 50 points of Fire, Body and Sprit Armor. Will not take
your defense in any category past 100.

Fire Armor-Gives you 100 points of Fire Armor, but will not increase it past
100. It allows you to resist the damage done to you by explosions and fire attacks, reducing the chance of severe burns.

Body Armor-Gives you 100 body Armor points, but will not take you past 100. Hampers the ability of your enemies to attack you physically with bullet, buckshot, talon, etc.

Spirit Armor-Gives you 100 Spirit Armor Points, no more after that, reducing
the effects of mystical energy attacks.

Super Armor-Very Rare but useful. Upgrades your armor to the maximum of 200 points.

Other Items
These items serve different purposes whether for defense, offense, or anywhere
else. Some are added to your inventory, others are activated immediately with
limited effects.

Guns Akimbo-Gives you double fisted firing power. Used with the Flare Pistol,
Shotgun, Tommy gun, Napalm Launcher, and Tesla Cannon. Be careful as you'll be
using twice the ammo, so watch that trigger finger!

Diving Suit-The human body is not equipped to breath underwater, unless you
wear this. It comes with its own oxygen supply, don't let it run out when
you're in too deep.

Cloak of Invisibility-Renders you invisible. Enemies won't detect you unless
you do something stupid...like shoot.

Beast Vision-Some creatures can see even in the dark. So can you with this. It
augments your vision to allow you to see even in the depths of the darkest
areas.

Jump Boots-You can jump much higher than normal when you wear these. Required
to reach some secrets.

Death Mask-Death cannot die. So when you wear this mask, you are temporary
immortal. Invaluable for surviving dangers that would surely kill.

Reflective Shots-When picked up, a mystical sphere surrounds you and relects
most attacks from your enemies back at them! With this item, when your enemies
get in your face, it's in their face! Does not protect against electrical,
explosive, or spiritual attacks.

===============================================================================

Enemies

During your quest, you must destroy many hundreds of enemies who oppose your
quest. Although it is a tradition to speak to people rather than shoot them,
during your quest, you will find it is better to shoot first and ask questions
later. (Much later! Trust me!)

Rats
Long the scourge of mankind, rats are notorious for sneaking into houses,
stealing food, and spreading disease. On their own, they are easily dealt with,
but they prefer to attack in packs.

Bats
Bats make their nests and lairs in caves and other dark places. Being
airborne, they are more difficult to shoot down. They also have a nasty
tendency of getting in your face when you're trying to deal with more
dangerous threats.

Spiders
The venom of these eight-legged arachnids can't kill, but side effects include
blurred vision and blindness. The good news is the effects are only temporary.
The bad news is that the side effects become worse the more you are bitten.

Zombies
Soldiers in the Scourge's undead army are formed from the corpses of people
slaughtered by the Scourge. The basic grunt is quick-footed and carries an
axe to aid in its eternal quest for brains to nourish its hunger. Ending a
zombie's undead existence is considered an act of great kindness.

Bloated Butchers
Bigger is not always better. Sometimes it's much worse. This zombie can not
only throw his cleaver, he can also spew a corrosive vomit. Their bulk offers
them protection from damage, but also slows them down.

Cultists
The Scourge's human soldiers are all highly trained in the use of their chosen
weapons. The basic rank uses the shotgun, which at close range can quickly
make swiss cheese out of any unprotected body. Sometimes they also throw
dynamite, so listen carefully for that telltale hiss.

Fanatics
Wielding machineguns, these trained sharpshooters can fill you with more lead
than a pencil if you let them. Like cultists, they carry explosives, so be
prepared to take evasive action.

Zealots
Armed with the Tesla cannon, these warriors make any encounter a shocking
experience. Their armour also protects them from electrical attacks, making
it impossible to give them a taste of their own medicine.

Ackolyte
These are the lowest ranking soldiers in the Scourge's army. What they lack
in gunfighting, they more than make up with explosives. You'll need some fancy
footwork when in a firefight with these demolitionists.

Priest
Among the highest ranked in the armies of the Scourge, priests are deemed
worthy of great power due to their training and immense bloodthirst. This boon
of power takes effect when they are killed, transforming them into a monster
of unimaginable might. Like the phoenix rising from the ashes, out of death
comes life.

Chrysalid Pods
Iconoclast is home to a vast array of vegetation, but some have proven
dangerous to travelers. They spit an acidic fluid that can dissolve flesh,
leaving nothing but a pile of bones and gibs as evidence of the deed.

Fire Pods
Most plants are destroyed in hellish temperatures, but this type of flora
thrives in such harsh conditions, spewing fireballs at any foolish enough to
approach. Survivors of such encounters still bear the scars of terrible burns
inflicted.

Gargoyles
While stone monuments of these demons inspire awe and fear in those who see
them, to witness them coming to life is a nightmare in itself. Often they
remain encased in stone, waiting for unwary victims to come within their
grasp. Their talons can rip flesh from bone in an instant.

Stone Gargoyles
Larger and more powerful than their flesh bretheren, these monstrosities have
skin that offers great protection from many attacks. Not only do they employ
the use of their talons to taken down their prey, but they can fire mystical
energy from their eyes.

Hell Hounds
What do you get when you cross a dog with a dragon? Now you know. This canine
is definately not man's best friend!

Bone Eels
Anyone who goes for a swim must understand the dangers involved. This flesh
eating fish prefers to attack and feed in packs. It doesn't take much to make
sushi out of them, but then again, you'll probably never eat seafood again
after an encounter with these terrors.

Gill Beasts
While perfectly capable of surviving on land, the gill beast is even more
dangerous in the water. A very fast swimmer, its powerful jaws can make quick
work of you if you allow it.

Mother Spider
The worst nightmare of all arachnophobics, this giant spider uses her young to
overwhelm her prey. The young spiderlings are also cannon fodder, distracting
your attacks.

Choking Hands
Sometimes the corpses of those slaughtered by the Scourge do not remain in one
piece. Skilled surgeons of the cult have been known to make use of certain
limbs, bringing life to a formerly inanimate piece of flesh and bone. They
attack by attaching themselves around your throat and squeezing to rob your
lungs of oxygen. You'll need to shake it off before you can kill it if this
happens.

Phantasms
No one knows exactly what these specters are. Restless ghosts, vengeful
spirits, or undead horrors summoned from another dimension are the theories.
Being transparent in appearance, they need to fully materialize and solidify
in order to strike their victims, leaving themselves open to attack.

Cerberus
Named for the three-headed guardian of the Gates of Hades in Greek mythology,
this beast proves that two heads are definately better than one. And like the
mythical hydra, you'll need to destroy both heads to rest easier. Luckily,
they don't grow back.

Beast
This abomination possesses great strength and power. Although they are
equipped with sharp claws to slash their victims as close range, their true
strength becomes obvious with a ground stomp. The shockwaves created by such
power has been known to stun a victim or damage internal organs, rendering
your armour useless.

Demon
Probably the most powerful and terrifying monster you'll face in your quest.
No one knows just exactly what it is as nobody ever laid eyes upon it and
survived the encounter, with the exception of Logan himself.

Other Obstacles

Pitfalls
The forces of gravity have claimed the lives of many foolish enough to step
too close to the edge of deep chasms, pits, and other places where the
altitude difference between two points is too great for the human body to
resist damage. Armour will not protect you as the damage is internal, not
external.

Water
Water is normally the element that brings life, but so too can it snatch it
away. The human body is not equipped to sustain itself underwater if you
remain under the surface long enough, unless you are wearing a diving suit.
Don't stay underwater too long, otherwise you will drown as many other
unfortunate souls have before you. Also, beware that some bodies of water are
known to be inhabited by flesh eating creatures.

Lava
Though not common, volcanic activity has been witnessed and recorded in
Iconoclast. Some creatures can endure the heat of molten rock without
suffering severe burns. Unfortunately, human flesh is not one of them.

Acid
The combination of water and sulphur dioxide creates a lethal concoction.
This mixture is capable of dissolving most solids such as stone over a period
of time. Less resistant matter such as organic flesh (including that on the
human body) is dissolved in a matter of seconds. Any who are unfortunate or
stupid enough to fall in suffer an agonizing end.

Instruments of Torture
Pendulums, rotating spiked pillars, blade traps, and other torture devices
are commonly used in dungeons and other chambers to inflict pain and suffering
upon their victims. Stay as far away as possible.

Machine Gun Traps
The Scourge have devised the technology of their weapons to create a deadly
lead-spewing trap. Don't stand in one place too long or you'll have more lead
than a pencil in your body.

Fireball Traps
Demonic fixtures are more than mere decorations. Some possess great power as
if they were alive, spewing fireballs powerful enough to rip your body apart.

Flame Traps
The Scourge have rigged pyrotechnic traps capable of setting flesh on fire
and inflicting terrible burns on anyone foolish enough to trigger it. Be
careful not to become kindling.

Crushing Sectors
The human body can resist damage...up to a point. Some devices can crush the
life out of you instantly the moment you are compressed between the floor and ceiling or two walls. Be careful not to become a human pancake.
