The sounds of gunfire rang in his ears and tormented his mind during his fight throughout the town of Tamirtania. This attack was an echo of the memory of the Scourges siege upon his home city almost two months ago.

I cant believe this is happening all over again. Logan told himself. People were being gunned down without mercy like cattle brought out for slaughter. He had already witnessed more than a dozen murders throughout the town and more corpses littering the streets. People whom he couldnt save. Nevertheless, their murders had been avenged upon the individuals responsible, yet as long as the Scourge existed, their souls would never rest.

I should have come here much sooner! Maybe I could have saved more lives if I had!
He gritted his teeth, more determined than ever to eradicate the Scourge from existence. His list of deaths to avenge grew with every civilian gunned down. In your name Katrina, I will end this or die in the attempt!

Surely, the Sword of Earth was what the Scourge sought in this kingdom. The journal of the Knight Warden, Edwards father, proved it. The slaughter would only end once they attained the blade and its power. But what did they intend to use it for? As a weapon to wreck further havoc and ruin upon the land? That was his best theory.

At the floor beneath his feet was a closed grate blocking off the entrance to the sewers of Tamirtania. A ladder led down into the darkness below. With the gate to the castle closed and locked, Logan had no choice but to descend down into the sewers beneath the city streets. There had to be another way into the castle.

Maybe theres another route down below to proceed further! he said to himself as he worked to remove the grate. Rust covered the metal in several large spots, making the job much easier. He wrenched pieces of the rusted grate free from weakened metal, but he couldnt make a hole large enough for his body to fit through.

Looks like I have no choice but to blow it up completely. He lit the fuse on one of his sticks of TNT and placed it upon a solid piece of the grate. He stepped back into the previous room to avoid shrapnel from the explosion when it came.
There was a loud boom and the sounds of torn metal as the red stick exploded, taking the grate with it as its only victim.

With the grate out of the way, Logan positioned himself above the ladder and lowered himself down into the darkness beneath the streets of Tamirtania.
