Overview:
-------------
This map is made in the shape of the Pentagon to allow for one continuous
hallway. You can run an opponent down pretty easily because of this
continuous corridor. On the outer portion of the hallway there are doors
to various rooms. Somewhere in the center is the Warlock's Room. There
are Hell Hounds that can be released via a push button (on a wall) to
wreak havok on other players when they open the door to the room. Not
many high-power weapons are available in large quantities to keep things
fair.

*Make sure to turn on Monster Respawning when starting the net game.

The Warlock's Room:
-------------------
This is the room you need to hunt down to have much fun. It contains 4
portals to various spots in the main hallway ceiling. You can drop
dynamite, shoot at people or jump through the portal to sneak up on someone.
There are respawning sticks of dynamite to keep you happy in there.

*I know the portals tend to screw up sometimes when looking through them in
the warlock's room. I tried to remedy the problem, but could not
keep 4 portals so close together without having problems. You can
always jump through them without any problems -- it's just looking
through them that causes intermittent problems.

The Lava Fort:
--------------
To get to this fort you must jump across the massive lava pond. Take
great care because once you fall into the lava, there is no way out. The
fort has a couple of spots to hide behind and pick off anyone else trying
to get across to your spot. Don't worry about running out of ammo because
you have some respawning in there. The more powerful weapons are out in the
open though, so you'll have to think twice about refueling with them.

*There is a hidden opening in the main hallway that can be pushed on
to let somebody get a couple of good shots at somebody in the Lava Fort.
The opening closes after some time and must be pushed on again to
re-open. There is also another hidden spot next to it!

Hidden Spots and See Through Walls:
-----------------------------------
A level of mine wouldn't be complete without the hidden spots and see
through walls! There are hidden passages you can either run through or
push on to reveal the opening. A couple of spots allow you to wait for
an opponent (behind a hidden wall opening) and make them say, "where are
you?!" when you plug'em full of lead and dynamite.

Sounds:
-------
A nice guy produced a doc file with most of the Blood sounds. I didn't
include many sounds in my other level because of having to sift through
all the sounds. Thanks a million to Ronald Allen (rallen@netcarrier.com)
for so graciously documenting them all! I have tried to include various
sounds to set moods for rooms and to cover up sounds for sneak attacks.

Hell Hounds:
------------
You can press the button and have a wall slide down -- unleashing the hounds.
Just snicker and wait for someone to open the door thus unleashing the 3
hounds upon him/her.

*Be careful around any containers with hounds in them. The game screws
up sometimes and lets a hound "pop out" of the container. Just be ready
to pound some pooch if you are running around the containers.

Loading the Map File:
---------------------
I am putting this for people who haven't loaded any maps before. First off,
make sure you are using a registered version of Blood -- the shareware
version WILL NOT load map files. Here is the syntax to load for a single
player game:
   blood -map pentagon.map

To load for a bloodbath with someone else on the network, load all your
network drivers and then run "SETUP.EXE" from a DOS prompt (in the blood
directory). Choose the option for running a network game. Then select
how many players. Change your name to something clever. :) Lastly,
select the "Launch Blood" option. Once the other player has done the same
and you are looking at the main menu screen of the game, select "New Game"
from the menu. Here are the options to use:

Game : Bloodbath
Episode : The Way of All Flesh
Level : Cradle to Grave
Difficulty : Lightly Broiled
Monsters : Respawn
Weapons : Respawn (Not the option with markers)
Items : Respawn
User Map : pentagon.map

Now that you have the options set correctly, select the option
"START GAME" and enjoy...
