==============================================================================
Description:
In 14 B.C.E, the tensions between two rival Legion divisions, the Red Fangs and the
Sandvipers, had reached a head. Each had been displaced out of their territory during a massive
Tchernobite invasion and had only revently been regained their lands. Once they returned,
however, they found that Tchernobite engineers had changed the course of the river Cepromoxin.
(diverting the water flow to a nearby plain in order to block the legion's advence) The river
was what cartologists had used to mark the boundaries between the Sandviper and Red Fang
territories. The change in the river's course had knocked off five or so miles of the Sandipers'
territory. Naturally, they were unhappy about this, and their Commander sent an envoy to the Red
Fang camp demanding that they be accorded their land back. The Red Fang leader refused, stating
that the river marked the boundary, and that was that. Tentions rose until finally in 14 B.C.E.,
The Sandvipers began a campaign to take back their land. The Red Fangs were quick to the defense,
and the first few days' fighting ended in a stalemate with both forces entrenched in positions
lining the river bank. One of the more notable battles resulting from this conflict occured at
the eastern edge of Diablo's Chasm, in which two well-equipped Heavy Weapons teams exchanged
incredible amounts of firepower in a spectacular and hard-fought battle which lasted for over
six hours.
Napalm Tag is an attempt to recreate the circumstances of that skirmish.

(Historical note) three days after the beginning of the stalemate, Hanser Ulrick,
commander of the Black Sun division, feeling that the two warring divisions were disgracing
the Legion with their peety infighting (and poor tactics) rode in on the weakened armies
with 15 assault squads, decimated both sides, and annexed their lands for himself.
